A Perfect Level of Certainty

by admin on May 24, 2011

I love my job. I really do. There is a perfect level of certainty without being mundane. Although I know exactly what I need to do, I don’t know exactly what I will do. Today, for example, I knew that I needed to fit and install risers on a staircase (my current project); I didn’t know that several of them would need to be milled down to 5/8″ and mitered to 75 degrees…try to cut that angle on a miter saw.¬†Also, the treads were milled far larger than they should have been. Every tread had to be cut and reshaped. It’s “problems” like this that make my day interesting.

As always, the best problems are those with a good solution. Keeping the final goal mind, and knowing which battles to fight are important to any project. As time permits, I will add more topics to the Projects page. Hopefully, you will learn some new ways to tackle your next building project!
